It began on the football field of Roosevelt High School. Daisy was the marching band drum major and Tristen was a freshman trumpet player. Though they weren’t close then, they spent countless nights performing together under the Friday night lights as part of the same band family. Daisy eventually graduated, Tristen continued to play, and for a while, life took them in separate directions.
Years later, their paths crossed once again. They met at the local lake to catch up, and while bonding over fishing, they realized they were both "hooked." Their new journey together was filled with days on the water, swing dancing on dirt roads, perfecting strikes at the bowling alley, and late nights in the garage with friends and family.
Eventually, they moved into a cozy apartment of their own—a space filled with love, a growing collection of Daisy’s crochet projects, and the aroma of Tristen’s cooking. Their little family grew by four paws a few months later when they adopted Oakley, an energetic English Springer Spaniel puppy.
In 2025, during their annual Labor Day camping trip at Lake Minatare, Nebraska, the story came full circle. On the lakeside, the hands that once held a trumpet and a fishing rod now held out a ring. With a joyful "yes," the promise of forever began.
From the bleachers of Roosevelt High to a lakeside proposal, Daisy and Tristen continue to build a life on a foundation of shared passions, proving that the best catches in life are the ones you never expected to make.
